One of the programs in Volunteer Resources at The Salvation Army Toronto Grace Health Centre is the Co-op Student Program.  Here is a letter of appreciation addressed to our President & CEO recently received from one of our graduate co-op program students.

“I’m a grade 11 high school student and I recently completed my co-op program here at The Grace hospital.  The Grace’s vision of Providing transformational and compassionate care perfectly suits The Grace family as they happily welcome new members to their team.  I want to thank you for providing high school students with the opportunity to do co-op at The Grace as it is a very rewarding and eye opening experience.

In the past eight months, I’ve worked alongside the best hospital staff I have yet met.  Starting off with Michael Fliess, Director of Volunteer Resources, I am grateful for the constant support he has given all the volunteers and co-op students as I feel very prepared and confident to say I have gained so much knowledge within a very short period of time.  In the past year, working with The Grace staff members, I feel like I am part of The Grace family all due to the daily warm welcome and positive vibe.

I’ve gained many valuable communication and business etiquette skills along with an abundance of great memories and rewarding experiences.  As I wish to pursue a career in the health care field, I want to thank The Grace for granting me the opportunity to be involved with the diverse community in order to contribute to my career options.  I particularly enjoyed my time interacting with my co-workers and the patients as a focus of my time here was to build healthy relationships with health care professionals.

Once again, I would like to thank you for giving me the opportunity to work with wonderful health care professionals and for the valuable experience in the health care system.”

Thank you and congratulations to our co-op program students, we wish you well in your continued studies!
