Today the family, friends and colleagues of Barbara and Jack Foden came to the Toronto Grace to unveil and dedicate in their loved ones memory The Barbara and Jack Foden Palliative Care Unit.

We thank the Foden’s for their generous donation of $200,000 to the infrastructure renewal fund for this unit.  The unit will serve many patients and their families for years to come.

Glenn Foden shared that “15 years ago my father was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. In the final months, we thank God that we found The Salvation Army Toronto Grace Hospital. With one phone call, they sent a doctor to see him.

The doctor provided very compassionate care and prescribed drugs to comfort my father. The doctor would return several times per week to check on my father and showed care and compassion that I have never seen before.

The palliative care provided by The Toronto Grace was exemplary service that we had not seen elsewhere. We need more Toronto Grace type hospitals in this province. When we decided to honour both of our parents with a memorial charitable donation, there was no question that the money would go to Toronto Grace.”
