The Salvation Army Toronto Grace Health Centre Returns Home to 650 Church St.

After three years of major renovations The Salvation Army Toronto Grace Health Centre will re-open at its original location at 650 Church St. During the Infrastructure Renewal Project, the Grace operated in a temporary location at the University Health Network’s Hillcrest site.

“The renovations that have been made to the Toronto Grace will allow us to better serve the patients that rely on our services and come through our doors every day,” said Marilyn Rook, President and CEO of The Salvation Army Toronto Grace Health Centre. “The modernization of the 60-year-old building has improved our ability to provide exceptional and compassionate care to all in need of complex continuing care, rehabilitation and palliative care services.”

The renovations included an update to the heating and air-conditioning systems, fire and life safety and other critical systems. The project was made possible through funding from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and The Salvation Army.

The transition to ‘Bring the Grace Home’ from the temporary Hillcrest location back to 650 Church St. will commence on June 19. Patients will move back to the Grace on June 24. Patient Care Managers are working directly with each patient and their family members to ensure a smooth transition back to the Grace.

An official reopening ceremony will be held in late September (date to be determined).
