‘Bring the Grace Home’

The Salvation Army Toronto Grace Health Centre has a long and rich history serving the needs of the community as they have evolved since 1889. The Grace is a 119-bed hospital that welcomes patients of all religious and ethnic backgrounds, and provides medically complex and specialized care and services such as Complex Continuing Care, Rehabilitation and Palliative Care. We also provide care to those most in need; those who are marginalized, those without family or support; and those in need of the unique care we offer.

Supported by the Province of Ontario, The Grace is making major improvements to our building at 650 Church Street that will give individuals access to modern and an up-to-date environment. The Infrastructure Renewal Project, when completed, will have improved air quality, upgrades in providing a safe environment for patients and staff, a new kitchen and pantries, a new rehabilitation gym and recreation therapy area, and the main entrance will be modernized and improve patient access to programs and services. We expect to move back to the hospital from our temporary location at Hillcrest in May 2017.

We have reached out to the corporate community at our location at Church and Bloor Streets with our ‘Be a Good Neighbour’ Appeal and are grateful for the positive response especially within the financial sector by RBC, TD and Scotiabank. The W. Garfield Weston Foundation launched us with their generous support of a $1,000,000 challenge grant providing for the refurbishment of our lobby now to be named the ‘Weston Family Welcome Centre’.

Numerous other foundations, corporations and individuals have stepped us to assist us in our fundraising efforts.

The Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care has provided for approximately 85% of the funds needed to complete the project. We are now reaching out to you to make sure we can complete the project for the benefit of our patients, our staff and our community.

Your gift can help us finish what we have begun. Help us ‘Bring the Grace Home’!

Sincerely,
