Carter scholarship has student on path to life helping others

“I never really had a stable living place or a permanent parental figure,” he says.  “I didn’t really have much of the emotional fulfillment that I guessed I had wanted growing up.”

“While refocusing his energy on school, Shameer also began volunteering at Toronto Grace Hospital with the palliative care unit, an experience that he credits with changing his perspective about the future.”

Shameer was a Volunteer Coop Student at The Salvation Army Toronto Grace Health Centre on the 4th floor Complex Continuing Care Unit from February to June 2011.

Congratulations Shameer and all the best in your studies in political science at the University of Toronto.
