650 Grace Grayscale

TORONTO, Feb. 1, 2016 /CNW/ – The Salvation Army Toronto Grace Health Centre is in the midst of renovating its aging facility at 650 Church Street. The ongoing renovation process will build upon The Salvation Army’s commitment to provide transformational and compassionate care to individuals in need of complex continuing care, rehabilitation and palliative care services.

“The life safety systems at the hospital require updating and upgrading,” says Marilyn Rook, President and CEO of The Salvation Army Toronto Grace Health Centre. “Although additional funding is needed, this project is well underway and must be completed by the fall of 2016. As such, we are asking our corporate neighbours located in the Church St and Bloor St community to help us succeed with this project.”

The W. Garfield Weston Foundation has gifted Toronto Grace with a challenge grant over five years that will match $1 million of donations on a dollar-for-dollar basis. The campaign recognizes that when local corporations and businesses financially support the Toronto Grace, they are in fact being a good neighbour by supporting vulnerable people in their community.

“We are pleased that our first corporate partner, RBC, has come on board,” says Rook. “We look forward to the support of others within our corporate community.”
