Tree of memories

The Annual ‘Tree of Memories’ Celebration was held on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. in the Main Floor Lobby of the hospital.  Patients, their families, staff and volunteers attended the event along with special guests Lieut.-Colonel Neil Watt, Board Chair, and Captain Les Marshall, The Salvation Army Territorial Public Relations and Development Secretary.

All who were present enjoyed together the ‘lighting of the tree’ to the fanfare of The Salvation Army Kettle Ensemble followed by the ‘dedication of the stars’ on the tree in memory and celebration of loved ones, former patients and friends of The Toronto Grace.  To date, approximately 180 stars have been placed on our tree with love and care.

The congregation then joined in a sing-a-along of Christmas carols and songs with The Toronto Grace chaplains.

The event was finished off with a time of sharing in refreshments which included eggnog, fruit cake and shortbread.

Thank you to our guests, staff and volunteer’s who participated, organized and supported the Annual ‘Tree of Memories’ Celebration.  Thank you to everyone who to date has supported our ‘Tree of Memories’ appeal!

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all!
