Palliative Care Unit (6th Floor)
This program provides care for patients who are at the end of their life. This includes medical, nursing, social work, spiritual care and a range of interprofessional therapeutic services in a supportive environment. The Palliative Care Unit is a 19 bed unit of 4-bed, 2bed and 1-bed rooms with bathrooms in each room.
Admission Criteria

Adults, 18 years and older
Patients with cancer, end-stage diseases (ALS) and end-stage organ failure.
Patients who require expert palliative care in the last 3-6 months of their lives.
Admission applications are accepted from acute care, rehabilitation, long-term care, community programs and primary care practitioners/teams.
Patients/families requiring respite care
Patients requiring short-term admissions for symptom control
