With a belief that spiritual care is intrinsic to well being, our mission is to support patients and their families in a manner that respects the individual's own spiritual journey, faith and cultural diversity. Each chaplain recognizes the privilege and responsibility of honouring this mission as we accompany our patients and their families through illness, grief, death and bereavement. The chaplains at the Grace serve as a team and work with the medical, nursing, rehabilitation and social work disciplines and the community at large to provide a holistic care structure. We hold regular chapel services for patients and families, for those patients who cannot attend chapel services, we televise the service for them. We also sponsor other faith services for our patients and families.
The Toronto Grace Spiritual Care Services formed a new alliance this year with the Centre for Spirituality at Work. The Centre offers practical programs to help people deepen the connection between who they are and the work they do. This group meets at the Health Centre weekly and also offers free programs to Grace staff and volunteers.
