Professional Practice
The key to the best health care is coordinated care, and at Toronto Grace, our Interdisciplinary Professional Practice Council (IPPC) helps to ensure that all of the health disciplines act like an orchestra creating a harmony of care. The IPPC forum facilitates discussion and sound decision making on issues that affect inter-professional practice and the delivery of safe, competent and ethical care across programs and professional disciplines.
This collaborative community of health professionals shares information across all programs and services and organizes activities that educate and inform others about practices within an area. To ensure that our internal professional standards are met and quality care is delivered to our patients, we critically review our internal practices and use outcome measures to evaluate the effectiveness of our services.
We promote and support interprofessional best practices through representation at academic institutions, participation in the education of students, presentation at conferences, participation in research and in external and internal educational events as well as journal publications
Profession specific practice is within the range of the individual profession specific committees such as our nursing practice committee, rehab practice committee and social work practice committee.
