GENERAL INFORMATION
Please Do Your Part to
keep our staff and patients healthy!!
Good hand washing is the
single most effective way to prevent the spread of disease and infection!!
Other important things
you can do:
- Do not visit the hospital
if you have any symptoms.
- Cough and sneeze in your
upper sleeve or a tissue, dispose of the tissue immediately and wash your
hands or use sanitizer.
- Get vaccinated as soon as
possible.

FOR VISITORS

Please do NOT VISIT OUR PATIENTS if you have symptoms of flu or
respiratory illness
- These
symptoms include:
- Fever
or feeling feverish
- Runny
Nose
- New or
worse cough

Shortness of breath
-
Vomiting/diarrhea
- People
who have symptoms of flu or respiratory illness should contact their
healthcare provider or Telehealth Ontario at 1-866-797-0000.
- For
information on H1N1, call the Service Ontario INFOline at 1-800-476-9780
OR go to the
Public Health Agency of Canada website.
FOR VISITORS
WITH AN OUTPATIENT APPOINTMENT
- If you have a
routine Outpatient Appointment and have any flu or respiratory symptoms,
please do not visit the hospital.
- You can call and
re-schedule your appointment.
- These symptoms include:
- Fever or feeling
feverish
- Runny Nose
- New or worse cough
- Shortness of breath
- Vomiting/diarrhea
- People who have symptoms
of flu or respiratory illness should contact their healthcare provider or
Telehealth Ontario at 1-866-797-0000.
- For information on H1N1,
call the ServiceOntario INFOline at 1-800-476-9780 OR go to the
Public Health Agency of Canada website.
FOR
STAFF
- If you
have any of the flu or respiratory symptoms as listed above, call
Occupational Heath at 416-925-2251 ext. 254 and your Manager before coming
to work.

Occupational Health and your Manager will advise you of the next steps to
be taken.
- If you
have been in contact with an individual(s) with the infection, call
Occupational Heath at 416-925-2251 ext. 254 and your Manager before coming
to work.
- For
staff who work at other healthcare facilities:
- If you
have worked on a unit with a confirmed H1N1 outbreak please DO NOT COME
TO WORK. You must contact the Occupational Health office as above.
- If you
have worked at another facility with an outbreak, but you did not work
on the outbreak unit you may report for your next shift.
FOR NEW
INPATIENT ADMISSIONS
- All new inpatients to
Toronto Grace Health Centre are screened for respiratory or flu illness on
their admission.
- New patients reporting
symptoms at admission will be assessed by our Infection Control
