Attention Chiropody Patients:

Due to COVID-19 our Chiropody Clinic is operating on reduced capacity in order to comply with infection prevention and control, and social distancing guidelines provided by Ontario Public Health and College of Chiropody of Ontario.

Please be informed that we will not accept walk-in appointments.

All chiropody visits will have to be pre-booked.

Before calling for appointment please ask yourself following questions:

  • FEVER (37.8 OR GREATER)
  • COUGH
  • SHORTNESS OF BREATH
  • CHILLS
  • MUSCLE PAIN
  • HEADACHES
  • SORE THROAT
  • NAUSEA, VOMITING, DIARRHEA
  • LOSS OF or CHANGES TO SENSE OF: TASTE OR SMELL

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms you must contact a doctor immediately.

You will also be screened with the same questions during the reminder call 24 hours before your scheduled appointment.

While on hospital property you will be required to:
Wear a face mask that covers your nose and mouth.

  • You will have your temperature checked on entrance.
  • You will be asked to sanitize your hands with hand sanitizer.
  • In order to comply with social distancing it is very important that you come punctually for your appointment since there is no waiting in the waiting room.
  • We encourage you to bring a debit or credit card for payment to try to reduce the usage of bills during COVID-19 restrictions.

The Salvation Army Toronto Grace Health Centre (TGHC) Chiropody Clinic has been serving residents of downtown Toronto for over 25 years.  The TGHC clinic specializes in geriatrics, biomechanics and diabetic foot care.

Chiropody Services (brochure attached) are available to inpatients as well as outpatients.  No physician referral is required to visit one of our Chiropodists.

Foot Clinic treatments include:

  • Routine Foot Care
  • Diabetic Foot Care
  • Sports Injuries
  • Gait Assessments
  • Custom Made Orthotics
  • Ingrown Toenails
  • Plantar Warts
  • General Foot Pain
  • Wound Care – It is very important to establish etiology of the wound and to eliminate the causing factor.  Often debridement of wound or peripheral hyperkeratosis is very important.  Appropriate dressings and daily care can be very important in encouraging the wound to close.  Visits may vary depending on individual cases.

Toronto Grace Sterilizing Protocol

Infection prevention and control (IPAC) is an integral part of patient care.  The above guidelines are designed in order to streamline all important aspects of IPAC at the Toronto Grace’s Chiropody Clinic.  All described routines are based on Standards of Practice for Chiropodists and Podiatrists defined by College of Chiropodists of Ontario.  Sterilization Standards of Practice can be accessed by following website address:
