Wound Care Program

The Salvation Army Toronto Grace Health Centre (TGHC) continues to build on its reputation in wound care management.  Our Wound Care Program aims towards the reinforcement of strategies to prevent the development of pressure injuries, ongoing assessment, appropriate management of pressure injuries, and wound care education.

During wound rounds, members of the interprofessional health care team, including the patient and their family, collaborate in establishing a wound care protocol and resolving any patient related concerns.

Dietary management is important for wound healing.  This is a focus at the TGHC, which ensures that every patient in CCC is seen by a registered dietitian.  Registered dietitians at the TGHC are part of the interprofessional health care team.  Patients at risk for pressure injuries or suffering with pressure injuries benefit from a dietitian’s assessment.
