“I’ll be home for Christmas…”
This phrase from a popular Christmas Carol is one that is the wish of so many within our care at The Grace. As we all know, the next line … “If only in my dreams”… will be the reality for most.
Every effort is made to make the holidays as special and memorable as possible for all at The Toronto Grace Health Centre, patients, family members and staff.
Colourful lights and garland illuminate the outside entrance to the hospital. This is a gift to The Grace from a generous company named Christmas Décor. This year marks their 10th year of bringing “light” to all in our facility.
Gifts are chosen, collected and wrapped by our chaplains so that everyone is remembered. Musicians visit each floor to share their talent and the spirit of the season. Food services do their best to provide a festive menu for the holidays. Recreation Therapy create activities that bring cheer to their participants.
All this is possible because of YOU! Your gift to our “Tree of Memories” appeal makes it possible for us to help our patients forget for a moment where they are and that they are remembered in a special way.
Most of you already know that it is at this time of year we adorn our holiday tree in the Weston Family Welcome Centre with “stars”, each with the name, in memory or in honour, of a loved one or special friend. With your gift of $20 or more, you may place a star on our “Tree of Memories”.
We ask that you take a moment to think of a patient at The Grace and know that with your donation, we will endeavour to make this special time of year a good one for each and every one.
