Friends of the Grace,
At this time of year, we cherish our memories of holiday celebrations gone by, and we look to the future to create new memories.
At The Grace we honour the memories of our patients, and families and friends of The Grace through our ‘Tree of Memories’. This gift giving opportunity allows you to share your memories and honour a loved one or friend by buying a star to place on our tree. Their name is placed on a star and the star is placed on our tree. The tree is displayed in our lobby throughout the season proudly honouring those for all to see.
Your gift has a direct effect on the care provided to our patients. Many patients arrive here with very little personal items and in these instances your gift benefits those patient’s to ensure their comfort by providing essentials of daily living like clothing and toiletries. Your support also assists with recreation therapy activities which provides additional support to the patient on their healing journey.
Patients like Bruce, a post-transplant patient who came to us for his rehabilitation believes the Toronto Grace provides excellent care. “From the beginning they welcomed me with open arms. The nurses were attentive and caring. Everyone was supportive.” He enjoyed his chats with the chaplain, and found Sunday morning services quite peaceful. Bruce particularly liked the recreation therapy ‘coffee and news’ activity; where patients gather together for coffee and discuss the daily news. Bruce was motivated to attend because as he said, “I like to put in my two cents worth.” Bruce’s experience is a good news story as he has now returned home.
