Our Diversity

We are enriched by welcoming staff from North, Central and South America, Africa, Asia, and Europe.  Our staff represent most of the world’s major religions, and this diversity helps ensure that we can meet the needs of our patients and families with dignity and respect.

We truly believe that a high quality of work life encourages staff to deliver the best care and service to our patients and their families at the Grace.  Staff at the Grace become involved and actively participate in committees and working groups.

Health & Wellness Program

The Salvation Army Toronto Grace Health Centre is committed to ensuring the health of our staff, and so we have developed a number of initiatives under our Health & Wellness Program to assist staff in maintaining their physical and mental fitness.  The Toronto Grace has a wellness centre; open 24/7, the room is outfitted with a weight machine and exercise equipment.  As well, a number of initiatives including rooftop yoga (offered seasonally on the Irwin Roof Garden), a running group, and complimentary professional services in massage therapy are available to staff.  The Toronto Grace has also sponsored initiatives such as a mental health at work session complete with resources, as well as workshops in dietary awareness through smart food choices.  These initiatives receive significant participation by our staff.

Staff Activities Committee

Our Staff Activities Committee negotiates special event ticket discounts for movies, sporting events and theatre for staff, their families and friends to enjoy.

Long Service Awards

Each year a group of employees achieving 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 years of service receive acknowledgement by their peers and personally by the President & CEO.  This acknowledgement celebrates their commitment, dedication and contrition.

We thank all our employees for their contributions, commitment, service and dedication to the excellent care provided to patients and their families at the Toronto Grace.
