‘Music with Lynn’ started at the end of 2014 when Lynn joined the Grace volunteers. From her previous experiences in managing music programs at other hospitals and seniors’ homes, she was interested in offering music to patients and families at the Grace. At the time, the Grace already had a long-standing and much loved music program called ‘Impromp2Crew’. Wishing to build on its success and to offer more music to the patients and the staff at the Grace, the Volunteer Coordinator brainstormed new ideas with Lynn.

‘Music with Lynn’ made an official debut in January 2015 and it has been thriving since. Every month, the group performs instrumental music ranging from classical to contemporary, with occasional highlights of jazz and vocal, bringing in instruments from the strings family (violin, viola, cello, guitar), the winds (clarinet, saxophone) and the piano. The five-member group are non-professional musicians and most of them in fact come from an engineering background.

This is a very popular event among the patients, their families and caregivers.  You will find the Weston Family Welcome Centre full to overflowing with a very enthusiastic audience on the afternoons of the 2nd Saturday of the month with ‘Impromp2Crew’ and the 4th Saturday of the month with ‘Music with Lynn’.

The Grace has an extensive music therapy program conducted by Volunteers and Recreational Therapy, as well as Spiritual & Religious Care Services.
