What is a Best Practice Spotlight Organization?

A Best Practice Spotlight Organization (BPSO) is a program funded by the Ministry of Health and the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) to collaboratively support the implementation of Best Practice Guidelines (BPG) across health care and academic organizations.

We are pleased to announce that The Salvation Army Toronto Grace Health Centre (TGHC) has been appointed as an RNAO BPSO Pre-Designate. As a BPSO Pre-Designate, TGHC is committed to the adoption of Best Practice Guidelines to promote and sustain the provision of quality care that is informed by evidence and that is congruent with Patient Centred-Care.

The designate candidate period is 3 years, in which the organization must implement at least 5 Best Practice Guidelines and sustain the change in practice. If all conditions are met the designate candidate will be awarded the designation of RNAO Best Practice Spotlight Organization.

The overall goal is to standardize the implementation of BPGs across the organization. This will be achieved through bringing research into practice, integration of Patient Centred-Care principles and increasing professional accountability through point of care ownership.

Timelines: Implementation of Best Practice Guidelines

Toronto Grace Health Centre will start the BPSO journey over the next three years.
