Through the RNAO initiative ‘Bring your MPP to Work’ on June 23, 2016 the Honourable David Zimmer MPP for Willowdale visited The Salvation Army Toronto Grace Health Centre (TGHC) to understand some of the nursing and health issues.

MPP Zimmer had a connection with TGHC as his mother-in-law was formerly a patient on the palliative care unit.

During his visit, MPP Zimmer was able to tour the site, meet with the CEO Marilyn Rook and some of the staff. The highlight of the visit was when MPP Zimmer was able to visit with one of our aboriginal patients on the palliative care unit. In his portfolio as Minister of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation (formally Aboriginal Affairs) MPP Zimmer was interested in understanding the services we offered to aboriginal patients.

To cap the visit off MPP Zimmer joined us in saying goodbye to our CFO Fred Fotopoulos with whom he was acquainted with on the golf course.
