Suhani shares, “I started volunteering at TGHC in the fall of 2018. As a student, I wanted to gain some experience in a health care setting and I am glad I chose TGHC. Since the day of my interview, Rima has been very supportive and helpful. She helped me find the right program for me based on my career choice, and was very helpful throughout the intake process.

I have been volunteering in the rehab department and find the Rehab team, too, to be very kind and supportive. They do their best to ensure I have a good learning experience. I love interacting with the patients as they are always so full of positive energy. I have formed many connections through volunteering at TGHC and it’s quite a joy seeing everyone’s faces when I go in to volunteer.

One of the things I love about volunteering at TGHC is that all the staff members are always very understanding with everything and are always happy to help. Through volunteering at TGHC, I got to see patients progress from being completely dependent on a wheelchair to being able to walk independently, and it is always a joy to share that journey with them. I have seen the rehab team help patients re-learn day to day tasks such as cooking to help them be more independent and I have seen patients get better and stronger, to the point where they are independent and able to go home, which is always a moment with mixed feelings. Overall, it has been a very enriching and positive experience for me and I hope many others get to experience this.”
